Why you should have me time

Hey socials, welcome back to my blog. It’s being a while but I’m back with a very interesting blog post. You may have noticed in my every post, I have talked about how spending time with yourself is much more important. So I decided to dedicate this post to talk about what is me time and why anyone should have me time. Without further do let’s move into the blog post.

What is me time?

The basic idea of me time is having some quality time with yourself. Have any of you, really had some quality time with yourself? Now you must be wondering what does she meant by having quality time with yourself or how to do that. Let’s dig into that later in this blog post. Anyways I hope the first sentence, explains what it is meant by ‘me time’.

What are the pros of having me time?

Actually why one should have me time? I hope all of my readers have phones with them. Then one thing you make sure to do is charging your phone when the battery is dying. Having me time is like the exact same, you should charge yourself. You are busy with work and all the other personal commitments while you are at it, you waste so much energy. When having me time, you spend time thinking about what’s exactly happening around you. Disconnect yourself from the rest of the world so that you can focus more on yourself.

  1. It boosts your mental health

Your mental health is a much more important fact to have a happy life. In a lifetime, we go through so many things that damage our mental health. It’s always must to you to have some time to yourself and recover from the damages that you have done to your mental health. Remember that having good mental health will help in your life’s succession.

2. It helps you to improve your relationships with others.

If you don’t love yourself, you can’t love any other person. Remember guys self-love is more important, no matter what you should always love yourself more. Having me time is all about loving yourself more. This time you are spending with you, you dedicate it to yourself so that you and yourself can talk about things. Giving yourself a priority is so important so that you figure out the things keeping you away from your goals or things that hurt you. You will learn your flaws and try to come up with solutions and be the better version of you which eventually helps you to make your relationships with other people strong.

3. It helps you to find your path.

The time you are spending with yourself, helps you to think about what you really need to do with your life. With the work you are engaging you don’t really get time to think about what you really need to do with your life. You need to figure out what are you really passionate about. Do you love what you do and do you have a skill set to be the person you always wanted to be. What are your potentials and how to make use out of it. These things are very important to your life’s success. Setting long term goals, setting short term goals and find a way to achieve all these should be discussed with yourself and for that, you need to disconnect yourself from the rest of the world.

4. It helps you to be more focused.

Whether you are agreeing or not life is full of distractions. Everything happens around you distracts you from who you are truly and what are your passions. You tend to focus on your work and the people around you and you forget yourself. Yourself doesn't deserve to be treated as trash. You need to focus on yourself and what you need to do with your life. That’s why having me time is very important because that’s the only time you committed for yourself.

5. It helps you to be happy

What is more important than your happiness. You compromise everything for other people and you have forgotten that your happiness matters the most. If you are not happy no matter what you do you can’t make someone else happy. Having this little time to you will help you to figure out all the things that avoid you being happy.

How you should have me time?

Well, this is important. How one should have some me time. You may feel like having me time is boring but once you started having me time you will understand how important and how fun it can be.

  1. Take yourself out

We are living in busy lives that we can’t make plans with our friends all the time. So that you can take your self out while waiting for your friends to get free time to hang out. Is there any restaurant you wanted to check out so badly? Is there any movie that you wanted to see? Is there any place that you wanted to visit for a long time? Go to that restaurant or to the movie or to the place you wanna visit with yourself. Have some quality time with yourself. Keep your phone away, while you are at the restaurant and try reading a book or write down your journal while you are enjoying the food or a cup of coffee. Try to come up with visual aids of how your life should be and what should you do to make thing happen.

2. Five minutes walk

You don’t have to spend hours as me time. While you are at work when you feel tired take a walk of five minutes. Go outside of the office have fresh air and reboot yourself. You will feel relaxed and happy.

3. Read a book

Reading is one of the most beneficial habit one can develop. If you love yourself enough you should feed yourself with knowledge. Reading is also a way of having a conversation with the author, so make sure you pick the best books to read. I would highly recommend Robin Sharma’s books because those books add value to your life. It’s okay to read fictions, novels or short stories as you wish but make sure you spend this time of reading books adds some value to your personal life. Improve yourself day by day, always try to be the better version of yourself. Books can help you to be the person you always wanted to be. I think this is the high time for you to cut down the time you spend on Netflix or YouTube or social media or any other time wasting things and start reading some good books.

4. Write your journal

One of the best ways to spend some quality time is to write your journal. When you are writing your journal you basically talk to yourself. You pay attention to what happened during the day and lessons learned. You can be more focused on your goals and ways to achieve them. Start spending your me time writing your journal and you will wish you would start that sooner. You can read more about journaling on my previously published blog post.

5. Pamper yourself

Personal hygiene is something that one should always take care of. Spend your me time pampering yourself. Go to a salon, get a hair cut or do a facial. Spend some time putting a face mask or apply good products to your face. Eat healthy food because you don't want to make yourself sick. Go shopping and do fashion. There’s nothing called spoiling when comes to yourself. You should always pamper yourself.

There are so many ways of spending me time if you do your homework properly you will find out. Above mentioned are my favorites. I personally believe the best time to have your me time is early morning while other people are sleeping. That’s why you should master yourself to wake up early. Anyways having me time doesn’t mean that you are becoming selfish or self-centered and don’t get me wrong that I don’t ask you to cut yourself out fully from the rest of the world. You should spend time with the people and you should commit to your work and other relationships you are having but have some me time every day. Doesn’t matter how much of time you get to spend with yourself, make this a habit.
